It’s gratifying to know that our first client had found the client-side interviews to be both exciting and engaging at the same time. For them it’s not often that there are people who are willing to sit for 4 or even 5 hours just to listen to their long-winded explanations on how they design games or how they even run their business.

We’ve been doing this for four or five years now and this is a project that we really should’ve taken on board since we started a forum for gamers to vent on all things PC Gaming. I guess it just occurred to us that we can measure and quantify what we have on RYG’s forums. The problem, then, was time and scale. Now, we’re taking that back and “reclaiming” the treasure trove of information that’s sitting untapped on our forums. Why? Every bit of research and information counts.

It is a bold claim, but we believe the implications are more damaging than what it initially appears. You see, in making and designing games that are "single-player" orientated you're making a statement that 1) you're committed to designing a personal conversation with your gamers and 2) you're designing games with particular constraints that will require high degrees of creative excellence and workmanship.

If you ever get a chance to chat with Ethan Lee, also known as Flibitijibibo among many circles, you’ll come to realise that 1) he is not a douche-waffle by any standards and 2) he is a reasonable, well-spoken, well-liked and intelligent young guy. Wouldn’t it be nice if…Makers and creators of DRM schemes would use their own DRM schemes and experience the annoyance we all do as gamers; if video game developers, designers et al. actually bought their own games as gamers instead of having their games “gifted”; if those involved in making a game took the time to research and understand their own customer market.
